Peiffer Wolf has begun an investigation into the brokers at Integrated Financial Group. A number of Brokers at Integrated Financial Group have allegedly recommended GPB Capital Holdings and potentially other alternative investments to investors.
Investors were pitched attractive returns offered GPB and the broker-dealers who sold the GPB Funds. Brokers, however, were motivated by the 8% commission for selling GPB funds. It now appears as if brokers received more than $100 million in commissions.
Furthermore, the notes that were sold are considered private placement, or non-traditional, investments that are not registered with the SEC. These inherently risky investments are often only suitable for sophisticated investors. However, many brokerage firms and financial advisors still sell these products because they offer higher commissions.
Financial advisors (brokers) have a legal obligation and regulatory obligation to recommend only suitable investments that are appropriate for their individual clients. Their broker-dealer (employing brokerage firm) has a legal obligation and regulatory obligation to supervise the financial advisor’s sales practices and dealings with clients. To the extent that any of these duties are breached, the customer may be entitled to a recovery of his or her investment losses.
Based on our experience, we believe that there are more investors who have been the victims of Integrated Financial Group’s alleged broker misconduct and investment fraud. If you invested with brokers at Integrated Financial Group, contact Peiffer Wolf immediately for a FREE Consultation.
