On June 2, a team of attorneys including Woska Law Firm, The Wise Firm, and Peiffer Wolf Carr & Kane filed a complaint against Genghis Grill and related entities in the Northern District of Oklahoma. The Plaintiff alleges violations of federal minimum wage laws and Oklahoma state law for Genghis Grill’s unlawful tip pool arrangement and tip-credit payment practices. The lawsuit seeks certification of all similarly-situated workers, which would include any Genghis Grill employee (including bartenders, servers, hosts, and bussers) who either 1) contributed to the Genghis Grill tip pool, or 2) was paid the tipped minimum wage and had to perform preparatory, maintenance, or cleaning tasks.
